T-minus 2 days

Susie says that she is bored with my one, lone post, so this second one is dedicated to her.

Well, folks, here we are. Departure is upon us. Tomorrow Brandon and I leave Athens. It has been a good two years here, and I have loved OU and the surrounding area. I will be sad to go. I can't thank the Brooks family enough for putting up with me this summer and for their unending hospitality. We had a nice summer, and got to visit with many dear friends, including Nate and Hanna, Mom and Dad McArdle, Susie, Dean, Amelia, Melissa Mai, the Gombises, and others. Thanks for the visits!

On Monday I head to New York for a week-long retreat with the other YAV volunteers, then...it's Korea time! I am feeling very ready to go. Let's get this party started.

A few housekeeping tidbits:
1. My skype name is jenny.mcardle. What is yours? Please let me know, as I would love to skype with you and see your shining face.
2. I have been so blessed with people willing to support me in all ways, including financially. I successfully met my first fundraising goal, and my next one is not until February. Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has helped out. I am eternally grateful. I fundraise all the way through next year, so if you decide you would like to contribute, you still can!
3. I have a phone number if you feel like calling me while I am in Asia. The number is 82-10-2495-7808. Feel free to call me anytime (keeping in mind the 12ish hour time difference).

A rather boring post? Perhaps. Sorry Susie. Next time I will try to spice it up (like Kimchi-style spicy).

Oh yea, speaking of which, Brandon wanted me to include this pretty cool story. We have been helping him pack for his move to Lansing and have, therefore, been going through all of his crap in the basement. It is sort of startling how much crap he has. Well, in between his old coins, baseball cards, trophies from 1995, outdated books and school binders, we find a little book on Korean food! He has no idea where it came from, but it is the perfect little guide! So someday long ago he must have been dreaming of having a girlfriend of his travel to Korea (or having a Korean girlfriend, but I am going to go with the first one).

  1. A mom thinks everything her daughter writes about is fascinating. No exception in this case.

  2. Sisters have higher standards. Thanks for the shout outs though! Can't wait to read about all the future endeavors. Enjoy tomorrow in Michigan and safe travels on Monday! Love you!
